Fiesta Latina SA - South Africa’s 5th Annual Latino Culture, FOOD & MUSIC Festival has fast become #TheAnnualMeetingPointOfLatinosInAfrica, and celebrates Latin Americans living here, their culture, traditions, food, music and folkloric dance. 

Apart from actually travelling to South America, this is the most authentic Latino experience you can get this side of the Atlantic, and allows us to proudly share our cultural roots with other communities, locals and tourists. 

Everyone is welcome and there will be something for everyone to enjoy; simply a fun afternoon, and evening, of unsurpassed Latin hospitality.

#FiestaLatinaSA 2016 is brought to you in the interests of promoting cultural awareness and community development.
 

SO... What can you expect at this ALL NEW Fiesta Latina SA 2016?
 

 • TASTE of Latino America • 

A vibrant food court that is a feast for the senses. Indulge in 15+ Central and South America cuisines. From Mexican food, to Argentinean…We guarantee, there will be something for everybody!

Sweet and savoury dishes will be freshly prepared just for you to savour. As at all our events, we aim to cater appropriately for everyone. Vegetarian, Halaal, and Kosher food options are available too (look for the signs at the participating vendors!). And to wash it all down? How about some traditional beverages, or some freshly brewed coffee from... yes, you guessed it...South America! A cash bar is available too. 
 

• LIVE ENTERTAINMENT • 

A sizzling entertainment and party line-up, featuring cultural dances, traditional Latin games and exciting competitions await. 

4 incredible bands and a fabulous solo artist will add to the festivities this year! 
 
  •  El Cantante 
Wonderboom frontman, Cito, goes back to his Puerto Rican roots, and together with guitarist Martin Schofield brings you acoustic versions of Spanish classics and unique arrangements with a “Desperado” flair.
 
  •  Cesar & Nuevo Latino 
Get ready for a hip-shaking, foot-tapping, good time with Cesar Alvarado and Nuevo Latino! From classics to sexy Reggaeton, Nuevo Latino is going to make you dance the night away with some hot Latin rhythms and their unique blend of passion and energy. 
 
  •  En Fuego
An explosive salsa experience is a certainty when En Fuego takes the stage! Directed and developed by David Sendef and Thomas Dyani, this incredible Afro-Cuban band plays NY Style Salsa, Afro-Salsa & Latin Jazz. 
 
  •  Los Hermanos 
Pedro Barbosa and crew bring you some of SA’s best jamming musicians, in a celebration of latin rhythms. 
 
  •  Veronica “La Voz de Mexico”
Mariachi lovers are in for a treat with Veronica! This talented Mexican vocalist will share her cultural musical roots in an exclusive appearance at Fiesta Latina SA.

  •  ANIMALS
Have you ever seen an ALPACA before?
Fiesta Latina will have ALPACAS from Peru on display at Fiesta Latina. A member of the camelid family, these cute herd animals are a sight to behold! The kids are sure to be delighted! Get your cameras ready for a great photo opportunity!
 
  • COMPETITIONS
Do you have what it takes to win the “Baileton” this year? How about “Canta Y Gana”?
There will be plenty of prizes up for grabs. Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton Samba and many other unique, fun attractions will provide an unrivalled treat for your senses. 
Food vendors can have some fun too! ...The best decorated, festive food stall will win a cash prize!
 
  •  “LA HORA LOCA”
No Latin Festival is complete without a full Latino Party! Our ever popular signature attraction, the carnival-style “La Hora Loca” (The Crazy Hour) will begin as the sun sets. Be ready to dance, dance, and dance some more! 
 

 • BARRIO AFRO-LATINO MARKET • 

Find deli items, jewellery, arts and crafts and so much more at 40+ stalls in our dedicated lifestyle market and entrepreneurship area. 
 

 • CHILDRENS ENTERTAINMENT • 

A kids play area, with boats, motorised cars, jumping castles, and soccer will keep the little ones busy throughout the day.
 

 • WHEELCHAIRS • 

Wheelchair access and toilet facilities will be available. 
 

 • WHAT TO WEAR • 

Get into the festival spirit, and come dressed in traditional clothes, carnival wear, South American characters, or the colours of your country’s flag. Be innovative, be outrageous, this festival is put together for you, so come live "la vida loca"! There will be prizes for best traditional and festive wear.
 

 • WHAT TO BRING • 

Feel free to bring blankets and camping chairs.

Plenty of safe parking is available inside and around the venue.

 • VENDOR APPLICATION • 

We have a few stall spaces left. If you are interested in participating at this event, details are below.
  •  Food court – only Latin American food items are required for this event. If you are a vendor supplying this cuisine and or ingredients, you may contact us for vendor opportunities. No other types of cuisines/foods will be considered for this event. 
  •  Market area - vendors with unique, exclusive local or international products may contact us for available space. We will require at least 2 photographs of your goods. Selection will be at the organisers discretion.

 • SAFETY REGULATIONS • 

As this is a family event, the following items are not permitted at the venue:

• Air horns / vuvuzelas
• Firearms, knives or any other weapon or metal objects
• Gazebos
• Laser pens
• Laughing gas
• Hubblys
• Pets
• Food and beverages from outside the venue
• Flammable items, aerosol cans, fireworks
• Flasks or cooler bags
• Bicycles or hoover boards
• Water guns or squirt guns
• Spiked jewellery
• No markers or spray paint
• Additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of security officials.
