DAY 2 SHOW 1 ISUZU LUXURY COLLECTIONS
BLACK COFFEE

Black Coffee is a predominantly womenswear label incorporating a large gender-neutral range that supports the notion that clothing is not necessarily bound to gender.
“My ultimate vision is based upon reinvention and regeneration - old and new. In this collection I gather inspiration from 18th century frescos and mosaics, Hokusai block prints and Sashiko mending, and these manifest subliminally in the final designs”.
Black Coffee’s narrative is a continuum from one season to the next. Objects of clothing can become part of the wearers’ collection and be built upon from year to year. Trend driven seasonality has been discarded in favour of garments that become collectors’ pieces.
Selected pieces are made from “dead stock” fabrics and remnants while some are upcycled.

Cradled amongst the caverns of ‘The Origins of Humankind,’ Johannesburg, VIVIERS originate and co-create conceptual and conscious clothing that deconstructs systematic stigmas. Blurring the liminal lines between Sophistication, Disobedience, and the Avant-Garde, VIVIERS attempts to link mutually exclusive communities in the name of art.

Lezanne believes that luxury and humanity are synonyms and should be the key-focus to co-create a conscious and circular future in the industry.  Her curation process favours suppliers that stand for Accountability, Traceability, Transparency, and Certification.
