ABOUT

I am pleased to announce the new Transactional Analysis 101 starting in January 2022. It will run on Monday mornings, 8am to 10am (GMT+2), for 2 hours a week, over a 12 week period.

You may have seen or heard of these books in your time? They are the foundational works of Transactional Analysis (TA), a most intriguing, significant and dynamic field of Psychology, and this course is the introduction to all the TA concepts that now form the field of study TA is today.

TA is a psychological theory that is easy to understand, relate to and work with. It asserts that we can better understand ourselves by discovering our beliefs about self and others (Life Positions), and by analysing the transactions we enter into with ourselves (the conversations within) and with other people. TA teaches us to

"decontaminate" old, stuck ways of being, and to deal with life in the here and now. TA’s essential philosophy is that all people are okay, all people can think, and all people

can change. And the purpose of TA is for us to grow towards achieving real autonomy in our lives.

How does it help?

TA helps us understand ourselves and others better in terms of why think, feel and do the things we do.

This helps us to become better parents, grandparents, managers, teachers, team members, coaches, psychologists, counsellors, friends and partners.

TA gives us tools to change things that are no longer working for us in our relationships, and to do things differently to get different results.

Marguerite Sacco is a specialist in TA. Here is her CV:

"I am a Certified Organisational Transactional Analyst (CTA)(O), Accredited Facilitator, Coach and Appreciative Inquiry facilitator.
