Audiences are definitely in for another treat and can expect a similar experience to that of last year when a spectator commented that “I went to watch as a duty but left feeling uplifted and hopeful about the future” while another remarked, “I didn’t expect to laugh so much!”

Following the success of Mission (I’m) Possible in 2018, an inspirational theatre production depicting the lives, hopes and dreams of Pollsmoor inmates, the Second Chance Theatre Project is back with a vibrant performance scheduled for Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September 2019 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

In keeping with Heritage Month, which South Africa celebrates in September each year, the new theatre production is titled, Live, Love and Leave a Legacy. Audiences will be challenged to think about their historical inheritance and the legacy they would like to leave behind for future generations.

The project, a collaborative arts and social justice initiative by partners NICRO, Department Correctional Services (Pollsmoor) and the University of Cape Town’s Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies (CTDPS) and the university’s Department of Social Development, endeavours to challenge the public’s perception of offenders.

The production is Child-friendly.
