20/20 Entertainment in Containment presents "A R U M Project"


20/20 vision in the year 2020


Biblioteek Productions presents twenty Classical inter-disciplinary online projects of twenty minutes each. Nearly sixty freelance artists from all spheres of the creative and arts industry are involved in this exciting project. These mini-productions will be rolled out each week from 10 July. Join us in this online revolution, where we continue to bring boundary shifting classical music to you.

Founded by Cara Stacey, A R U M is a new music ensemble comprised of musicians and composers from around southern Africa. Arum brings together the sounds and structures of indigenous instruments such as the makhweyane bow, umtshingosi flute and ‘mamokhorong monochord, and traditional and extended techniques on violin and cello, and electronics. For the 20/20 series, the ARUM musicians are involved in a process of collective composing whilst all under lockdown.
