Join us at a networking event hosted by Phoenix Empowering in the continued celebration of phenomenal women. Theme of event is 'EQ – Can it be learnt?'. The objective of the event being to discuss and learn about EQ whilst celebrating women and establishing a networking opportunity for entrepreneurs and women in business & IT. 

Emotional intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. The question now is - Can it be learnt?

Innocente Burger

Innocente is the owner and founder of Perform Forward. She assists businesses to improve employee engagement - resulting in increased productivity and performance - for businesses with remote/virtual teams, co-located teams and hybrid teams.  

Through her partnership with Inspired Leadership, she provides and facilitates a blended learning program to grow leaders who focus on accountability, while fostering productive relationships with colleagues, peers and clients. 

Innocente is a Global Gallup Strengths certified coach and uses this approach to help individuals, executives and teams to understand their talents and how these can be used for optimal business performance. 

Innocente is the host of Performance Café, where she shares her insights and interviews interesting guests in her bi-weekly blog on the topic of increasing productivity and performance.

Adrian Ray

Adrian is an Open Group Distinguished Technical Specialist, who started his career in 1987 as a mainframe operator. He has held various positions from Technical Team leader, IT Economics Consultant, to recently, Sales Executive. His primary focus here, being South African Banks, as well as Public Sector customers.

Adrian is moving to Hungary to take up role with Kyndryl as a Senior Technical Specialist. 

He enjoys travelling (most certainly with his wife), woodwork, chess and watching various sports.

Jenna Segal

Jenna is a registered Industrial Psychologist with a passion for educating and upskilling young professionals entering the workplace. Her tertiary education was completed at Wits University where she obtained her Masters of Arts Degree in Industrial Psychology. Thereafter, she obtained her coaching certificate from the South African College of Applied Psychology. She has industry experience as a lecturer, trainer, coach, facilitator and consultant in the corporate industry; nationally and internationally. 

Her career aim is to raise the standard of excellence of every client through increased accountability, self-efficacy, and self-awareness.
