ABOUT
Calling all engaged citizens, scientists, engineers, economists, sustainability students, architects, artists, makers, urban farmers, permies, hackers, community activists, film-makers, occupiers, environmentalists, industrial designers, businesses, entrepreneurs, urban planners, nonprofits.
Our linear, extractive economy is responsible for two major problems: 1) unsustainable levels of resource consumption and 2) excessive waste production. An Open Source Circular Economy applies open source design thinking to close the loops and eliminate both problems at once.
The Institute of Future Living (IFL) and www.stopresetgo.org (SRG) is proud to be hosting Open Source Circular Economy (OSCE) days South Africa 2016. Collaborate with change agents in over 60 cities around the planet and participate in a series of Open Jams to co-create the sustainable world you want to live in. Here is your chance to be part of a new global citizen’s movement.
Come share your ideas at our Open Jams:
OpenC Cape Town - Use open data and open source approach to implementing Industrial Symbiosis across the city
OpenC ecohome - Help us build our open source, circular ecohome, with all successful designs open sourced and candidate for local manufacturing
Hack-the-Shack - Calling all shack-tivists to join us think outside the box with circular techniques to address the shack and slum problem
