Hand Lettering Workshop @ The Drawing Room
Sat Aug 19, 10:00 - Sat Aug 19, 14:00
The Drawing Room
ABOUT
Take a dive into the inky depths of contemporary typography in the cosy, creative atmosphere of The Drawing Room, in Observatory, Cape Town.
Led by artist and typographer Alicia McFadzean (aka Cheeky Observer), participants will learn how the practices of hand lettering, typography and art have collided brilliantly over the last few years to give birth to whole new categories and sub genres in art making.
Indulge in some of the cafe’s delicious coffee for a creative kick, as we get messy learning the fundamentals of brush pen script, gothic calligraphy, block and experimental lettering. At the end of the session you will leave with one (or more) complete typographic artworks of your own making!
