ABOUT

A day of story-telling, music, acting, dance and FUN!

Jungle Theatre Company in partnership with Assitej-SA is celebrating the international campaign ‘Bring a Child to the Theatre Day’ from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday 20 March 2019 in a new children’s theatre space at 3 Marchmont Road, Muizenberg.

Artists will be hosting storytelling circles from Khoisan and isiXhosa mythology and will perform the show Python and the Qunube Tree. They will also facilitate acting and dance workshops. The programme will culminate with Zolani Mahola singing. The event is most suitable for children aged between 4 – 10 years and their families. Tickets cost R100 for the whole day and are available on Quicket. Food stalls with popcorn, juice, macaroni & cheese will be available as well as merchandise based on our theatre works such as books and posters.

Thanks to the support of the National Lotteries Commission and The Learning Trust JTC will be bringing children from their partner organisations to participate in the day’s events. The event is a fundraiser for Jungle Theatre Company (JTC) to turn more African folktales into theatre and bring them to more children.
