ABOUT
Its winter and so too cold for our usual long day-trip to Cullinan. So we do a shorter and warmer afternoon trip in the Pretoria area.Do come early (gates open at 10:00) and bring a picnic lunch to eat at our depot. We will have braai fires, vintage cars, depot train rides, music and other activities. Watch us as we prepare our train for an afternoon Tshwane Xplorer trip.
Departing at 14:00 sharp, this year, due to line closures and maintenance work, we cannot do our usual circular route around the city. Instead our train becomes more of a "Country" Xplorer. We will travel northwards to Pretoria North, through the scenic Wonderboom Poort, past Bon Accord Dam and north out into the open countryside around Pyramid South before returning to our Hermanstad depot. The journey will be about 2.5 hours in duration, returning at about 16:30.
You are welcome to bring your cooler box with snacks and drinks onto the train although we do have a kiosk on the train which sells hot dogs, rolls, tea, coffee, cool drinks, sweets, crisps and the like. Regret we do not sell alcoholic beverages on board.
Ticket prices - includes admission to FOTR's depot and 'Open Day' (when applicable):

Pensioners (over 65) and disabled persons: R175
Teenagers (13 to 18): R150
Children (7 to 12): R125
Children (2 to 6): R75
Infants (under 2): free
